Ayurveda considers Panchmahabhoot as a basic building material of the entire universe. “Panch” means five, and “Mahabhoot” means great elements. It is the basic foundation of Ayurveda living. The balance of elements keeps us alive and provides health and longevity to the body.
The five basic elements that constitute living and non-living matters are Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Space. In terms of natural elements, these are the five most essential substances that constitute everything. We will discuss these five basic elements and the role of these elements in human life.
Let us understand the basics of these elements:
1. Earth -Earth is the most stable energy and represents the energy of a place to be. It looks like a blue ball from our moon, and brown represents a solid, heavy, and rigid state. Earth is the key to your life's stability, durability, and firmness. Its earth element ingredient is extremely beneficial for building bones, teeth, and tissue and strengthening the body.
Effects of polluted Earth Elements
Negative effects of low intake of the earth element include hair loss, muscle stiffness, tremors, weakened immune system, bleeding disorders, inability to gain weight, and early aging.
Effects of pure Earth Elements
To lose weight, one needs to decrease the earth's elements. Can do it through proper diet, medicines, and exercise.
2. Water - Technically, Water is a chemical substance composed of hydrogen and oxygen. It is the main element or component of the human body, about 60% of an adult’s body weight. Water is also known as the “Universal Solvent.” But Water is the first and Basic Element for life Generation on every planet where life exists.
Effects of Pure & fresh Water on our life
Increasing the water element can bring relief from dry skin and burning sensations. Water intake can benefit many diseases caused by fire or air elements.
Effects of Polluted water element
Water increases in each part of our body. So it causes swelling in the eyes, hands, and legs, but it also contains 90% of salt(Sodium Chloride), so when excess Water is present, it is also in large amounts in our bodies.
3. Fire - An essential quality of fire is heat which makes things mature and helps melt and purifies. Balanced fire can melt the cysts of an ovary, fibroids of the uterus, osteophytes of joints, and the spine. According to Hindu’s Granth.
Fire means Purity and the cause of Destroy, which depends on their use. It is also a way to communicate Between the people and their Gods.
Effects of the low fire element
Low fire elements reduce the desire for food, resulting in abdominal pain, and according to the Hindu religion, low fire represents. Thus we should take care of our health with herbal remedies like Chinese products or products from traditional herbs.
Effects of the impure fire element
High fire elements increase nitrogen and potassium, influencing the hydroponic solution's PH Value. It means when we burn any waste like plastic, bottles, etc., it directly affects our nature and our health.
4. Wind - Wind is a total healthcare product, and it is specially used for increasing the flow of wind in the human body. It is used for maintaining good health and increasing immunity.
Effects of the low wind element
Low wind element in the body pathology, there is a lack of energy, a severe reduction in bowel movements, and the patient tends to be lazy and slow.
Effects of the high wind element
If the element of wind increases, it may cause twitching of muscles, Parkinson and an unsteady mind. It happens due to the effect of wind and vibrations from the sound levels created by wind.
5. Space - Space is a place to take a moment and think about what’s important in life. This element teaches us to stop for a moment and observe. Space is about creating space for everything we have, physical and mental.

The space element is very important in the human body. It is a vital factor in controlling heartbeat, blood circulation, and organ function and helps maintain balance and coordination.
Effects of high space element
Cardiomegaly, Splenomegaly, Hepatomegaly, and varicose veins are caused by an imbalance of space elements in our body.
